The Nottingham-based PR consultancy was established by director Jonathan Cross, a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations who in 2009 became one of the first CIPR Chartered Practitioners in the country. He is also an associate with the National Social Marketing Centre and a member of the Association for Healthcare Communications and Marketing.

 

Jonathan has 20 years experience in journalism and public relations, having worked on regional and national newspapers including sports reporting and sub-editing on the Daily Express and Sunday Mirror. Previous in-house PR roles have included ITV, a top 10 UK building society and the National Health Service. Prior to launching People, Words & Pictures Ltd in 2008, he was the director of communications with NHS Nottingham City and led his team to the award of ‘NHS communications team of the year’ from the Association of Healthcare Communicators in 2007. He has won ten communications industry awards and in both 2010 and 2011 was named PR freelancer of the year for the Midlands by the CIPR. Jonathan holds the CIPR Diploma and is an examiner on national CIPR accreditated courses.
